Reena Bhansali runs HindibyReena, an online resource for parents and children around the world. Reena created HindibyReena after 10 years of research working with children. The classes are perfect for children living outside India and multi-cultural families who want their kids to stay connected to their roots.
Says Reena, "Having grown up in both India and in the US, I realized that many South Asian parents living abroad needed help teaching their kids Hindi/Urdu. They spoke English so well, it became the natural language at home — making it challenging to pass on their mother language to their kids. US-based Priya Gupta's specialty is in using poems, games, songs, fun anecdotes from mythology, and interactions to get children to learn Hindi and connect to their roots. She works on mainstream ways of learning the language too and wants to install a love for the language. According to Priya, "Alphabet is introduced as well, to help them become good readers. The focus is always on speaking Hindi because we know what matters the most!"
